This gorgeous Cuzco Art piece depicting Mary and Jesus is sublime in its beauty and brash elegance. The portrait of Mary and Jesus is wonderfully depicted with a “naughty smile” on a cute Baby Jesus with his right hand fingers in the iconic blessing pose of the adult Jesus. The use of Red and Gold are synonymous with Cuzco Artworks. Framed in a hand carved wooden Gold Frame this will both enhance the character of your home and add a touch of history.

It is a colonial-era style of painting and sculpture that developed in Cusco, Peru, merging indigenous Inca traditions with European artistic techniques. Despite the European influence, artists often depicted regional saints, local figures, and indigenous customs, providing a glimpse into colonial society.
The prominent use of gold leaf, especially in paintings of the Virgin Mary, is a hallmark of the style.
